Playlist Support

Playlist

Syncopation 2.0 has the ability to synchronize your playlists and their contents across multiple computers running Syncopation. You can also use playlists to control which tracks are synchronized. Finally, you can use playlists to transfer content from one computer to another manually using drag-and-drop.

Syncopation displays the playlists for the local iTunes music library and any subscribed libraries on the left side of the window in the source view.

Selecting which playlists are synchronized

In the playlists section of Syncopations preferences, you can select either all playlists or a set of specific playlists to Synchronize. When set to the All Playlists setting, all content in your music library is synchronized between computers. When you select a set of playlists, only the content in those playlists will be synchronized, and only those playlists will be duplicated onto other computers.

Synchronizing playlists

When you click the Sync button to synchronize your music, Syncopation will automatically synchronize the contents of the selected playlists from one computer to another whether using peer-to-peer synchronization or a Master Library.

Dragging playlists

You can use the drag-and-drop features of Syncopation to manually copy playlists from one computer to another. In the source view pane, click a playlist and drag it from a remote computer onto your local computer. This will transfer the playlist and all of its contents onto your local computer from the remote. You can also transfer a playlist in the other direction, from the local computer to the remote. You cannot, however, copy playlists from one remote computer to another remote computer.

Smart playlists and Folder playlists

Neither smart playlists nor folder playlists in iTunes are supported with this release of Syncopation. Only regular playlists which contain a static set of tracks.
