Syncopation 2.0 implements two modes for synchronizing content among your computers; a peer-to-peer mode and a Master library mode. The synchronization mode is set in Syncopation's Preferences window.
All of the computers which are subscribed together must use the same Synchronization Mode. Changing the mode on one computer will update the setting on other subscribed computers.
The synchronization mode controls which computers are updated against.
Peer-to-peer
In peer-to-peer mode, changes on all of your computers running Syncopation are tracked by all other computers. Changes made on any computer in the group will be propagated to other computers in the synchronization group.
Use this mode when you use all of your computers to add or remove content. This is the most common setup for Syncopation users.
Master Library
In the Master Library mode, one computer is designated as the Master. Changes made on this computer will be propagated to the other computers in the group. Changes made to other computers are not propagated to the master, and will possibly be undone when you synchronize to the Master. You can still add content to the Master Library manually in Syncopation using its drag-and-drop feature.
Use this mode when you have one central computer which you have set up a a Media Server, and you want to have your other computers mirror its content (or a portion of its content using Playlists).
