Change Log for Syncopation

Version 2.1

  • Adds support for the following iTunes meta-data: track ratings, play count, last play date, skip count, last skip date, genre, composer.
  • Improves ability of the Import without Copying feature to locate tracks when they are stored on a central music server or NAS attached device. Previously, Syncopation required all iTunes libraries to be set to that the iTunes music folder was on the NAS.
  • Fixes issues whare a manually stopped synchronization was considered a "successful" synchronization for the purpose of computing the deltas for the next update.
  • Fixes an issue in which not all track attributes were copied correctly, potentially resulting in the creation of duplicate tracks in the destination library.
  • Syncopation will now remember the size of the main window between launches.

Version 2.0.1

  • The block/pin state was not being applied correctly in 2.0. This release addresses this issue.
  • Fix issue with Import without Copying in which the track files would be copied regardless of the setting of the option.
  • Fix some typos, alignment issues, and incorrect labels.

Version 2.0

  • Support for iTunes playlists. Playlists and their contents are synchronized between computers. You can also choose a subset of your playlists to define which tracks are synchronized.
  • Drag-and-Drop between clients. You can drag tracks from the track list to another source on the left side or drag playlists between sources to transfer tracks.
  • Master-Client sync mode. In addition to the peer-to-peer sync mode that was the standard operation mode in Syncopation 1.0, the program now includes a master-client sync mode in which Syncopation clients track changes on a central master server.
  • Selective Synchronization. Before starting a sync operation, you have the ability to select which changes will be applied.
  • Performance and stability improvements. The engine for doing track comparisons and data transfer was significantly improved.
  • More efficient attribute changes. If a track attribute (such as name, album, artist) is changed, Syncopation will apply the attribute change rather than make a new copy of the track and remove the track with the old attribute.
  • Support for OS X 10.5 Leopard. Fixes some minor issues that Syncopation 1.0.4 has with compatibility with Leopard.

Version 1.0.4

  • Fixes a bug in which synchronization could fail with an error message saying "Could not get location of track <n>."

Version 1.0.3

  • Users can now include or exclude Movies, Podcasts and TV Shows using preferences.
  • Re-worked the preferences UI to use Andreas Mayer's AMPreferencePane code.
  • Fixed an issue where invalid track locations where inserted into iTunes when the iTunes option "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" is not checked.
  • Performance improvements in the deletion of tracks.

Version 1.0.2

  • Improved memory usage on both the client and the server to make synchronization less impactful on the computers
  • Improved file-transfer logic to better handle very large files
  • Changed name of Bonjour service to match application name
  • Changed icon for iTunes library to represent the version of iTunes on the machine

Version 1.0.1

  • New "Import without copying" option for experimental support for network media servers.
  • Syncopation can automatically check for new updates.
  • Enhanced the information in the Change Log window to help diagnose problems encounterd while synchronizing.
  • Added the ability to manually reset the synchronization state to a clean slate.
  • Fixed an issue where tracks were removed from the additions list even if they could not be transferred.
  • Fixed an issue where certain types of tracks were reported as additions even though they already existed in the library.
  • Fixed some display issues with the status area.
  • Added a running track count to the transfer progress in the status area.
  • Improved error reporting when Syncopation cannot subscribe to a remote library.
